Fifty Shades of Grey (2011)
Fifty Shades Darker (2012)
Fifty Shades Freed (2012)

Set largely in Seattle, a trilogy that traces the deepening relationship between a college graduate, Anastasia Steele, and a young business magnate, Christian Grey.
It is notable for its explicitly erotic scenes featuring elements of sexual practices involving bondage/discipline, dominance/submission, sadism/masochism (BDSM).

British author E. L. James

Grey’s dungeon, decorated throughout in polar bear and tiger skins. Ana is nailed to a crucifix. Grey thrashes her with a snakeskin riding crop. She cries out with pleasure as they climax eight times.

Ana: Oh my God. You’re the best, Christian. You know … I think I might be falling in love with you.

“You’re the best, Christian” 🙂

The trilogy features Anastasia Steele, who falls in love with Christian Grey, a troubled young billionaire who likes sex only if he can accompany it with quite formal, stylised corporal punishment

a book you’d be embarrassed to be caught reading on the tube

After all, if you can talk to someone about all the taboo things that excite you, then nothing is out of bounds.
